“When I started listening to my oversampled flac files, I felt emotions that, despite being 60, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced before in a home listening.
With Think Digital Audio transport I feel the weight of chords differentiating, the attack and double bass position is clearer; Manne’s magic cymbals realistically more blended together.
What changes is the amplitude: the resonance of harmonics is sharper and longer.
The beauty of these devices and their musicality require self-education to listen and a minimum of live listening experience. The lack of “belletto”, of false higher harmonics. The non-pasty density of sound and the sense of double depth are experiences that I have often experienced in a live setting, but never in domestic reproduction.
